Japanese Maples

Japanese Maples have many unusual varieties that add year-round interest.  They can have an assortment of colors ranging from various shades of green, red, orange, and variegated.  They also have attractive branch structure during the wintertime.  Japanese Maples can be grouped in the following categories:  upright, cascading, or bush type.  Japanese Maple’s range in size from 3 ft to 25 ft, depending on variety.  The upright growth habits include the linearilobum types with distinctive, long narrow lobes on each leaf.  The growth habit of the lace leaf types is usually cascading or weeping.  The bush-dwarf group includes maples that are bushy, compact and slow growing.

Here at the Dutch Garden Center, we have many different selections to choose from including:  Peaches and Cream, Orange Dream, Butterfly, Red Emperor, Shishigashira, Trompenburg, Shindeshojo, and Tamukeyama. We have a dwarf variegated form of Japanese Maple called ‘Goshiki Kotohime and a dwarf green curly leaf called ‘Shishigashira’.  Come see our Golden Full Moon Maple ‘Aureum’ with chartruse leaves turning red and almost some blue in the fall.  If you are a beginner or collector of maples, we have a wide variety to make your yard and landscaping unique.
